This partial list shows the numerous shortcuts present in Windows. You should know that there are shortcuts specific software. However, this list shows you the most used.

Windows-specific shortcuts :
With the Windows key:
- Windows key / Ctrl + Esc: Open the Start menu
- Windows key + E opens the File Explorer
- Windows Key + R: Run command launches
- Windows key + F: Opens the Find command
- Windows key + CTRL + F: Search for computers
- Windows key + F1: Opens the Windows help whatever the application
- Windows key + L locks the session
- Windows key + U: Opens the Utility Manager (Windows XP and 2000)
- Windows key + X: for a Vista laptop: opens the mobility center.
- Windows key + Pause: Opens the System Information Panel
- Windows key + M / Windows key + D: minimizes all windows and displays the desktop
- Windows key + Shift + M: Restore minimized windows
- Windows key + TAB switches between windows - Flip3D (Vista only): Next Window
- Windows key + Shift + Tab: Switches between windows - Flip3D (Vista only): Previous Window
- Windows key + CTRL + TAB window switcher freezes Flip3D (use the arrows to select a window and confirm with the Enter key)
- Windows key + P: Toggles the display to external monitors (Windows 7)
With the Alt key:
- Alt + F4: Closes the window or running program
- Alt + underlined letter in a menu name: opens the corresponding menu (eg Alt + F opens the File menu)
- Alt + Spacebar: Displays the shortcut menu for the current window
- ALT + Spacebar + U: Reduces the current window
- ALT + Spacebar + N expands the current window
- ALT + Spacebar + R: restores the current window
- ALT + F + Spacebar: Closes the current window
- Alt + Print Screen: screenshot of the current window
- ALT + ENTER: Open the properties window of the selected folder / file
- Alt + Shift (or Alt Gr + SHIFT): switch modes AZERTY / QWERTY
- ALT + TAB switches between windows - classic: Next Window
- ALT + SHIFT + TAB switches between windows - classic Previous Window
- ALT + CTRL + TAB window switcher freezes classic (use the arrows to select a window and confirm with the Enter key)
- ALT + ESC: browse the windows in their opening order
- With the CTRL key
- CTRL + ALT + DEL / CTRL + SHIFT + ESC Launches Task Manager
- CTRL while dragging an item: Copy the selected item
- CTRL + SHIFT while dragging an item: create a shortcut to the selected item.
- CTRL + F4: Close the active document when you use a program that allows you to open multiple documents simultaneously
- Function keys:
- F1: help
- F2: Rename a File
- F3: search for files
- F5: refresh the display
- F10: Activate the menu bar in the active program
- Backspace key (above the Enter key) to return to the previous level in Windows Explorer
- Shift while dragging an item: Move the selected item
- Print Screen: copy the entire screen
- Shift (or Shift) + Delete: delete a file directly without going through the trash
- Shift + F10: replace the right click
- To prevent the CD from automatically playing, press at the time of insertion Shift

- Ctrl + U: highlights selected text
- Ctrl + I: sets the selected text italic
- Put a capital letter O with emphasis  Î
- Tiny .. focus type
- Capital .. type the letter
- Tab (left) moves all selecting a tab to the right
- Shift + Tab (left) moves all selecting a tab on the left
- CTRL + Home: Returns to the beginning of the open document
- Ctrl + End: Go to end of document open
- CTRL + RIGHT: return the insertion point to the beginning of the next word
- CTRL + LEFT: return the insertion point to the beginning of the previous word
- CTRL + DOWN: reduce the insertion point to the beginning of the next paragraph
- CTRL + UP: return the insertion point to the beginning of the previous paragraph
- CTRL + SHIFT with arrow keys: highlight a block of text
- SHIFT with the arrow keys: select multiple items in a window or on the desktop, or select text in a document
Word :
- Ctrl + Shift + N: normal sets the selected text
- Ctrl + Shift + 1 / Ctrl + Alt +1 English version uses the Heading 1 paragraph where is the mouse
- Ctrl + Shift + 2 / Ctrl + Alt +2 English version uses the Heading 2 paragraph where is the mouse
- Ctrl + Shift + 3 / Ctrl + Alt +3 English version uses Heading 3 paragraph where is the mouse
- Select a word or group of words and then Shift + F3: changing the case
Excel
- F2 edits a cell. Allows you to use the keyboard to directly edit content
- Ctrl + $: copy the cell above the selection and is directly in edit mode
Internet Explorer :
- Backspace key (above the Enter key) to return to the previous page
- Ctrl + B: Organize Favorites in Internet
- Ctrl + D: Add current page to Favorites
- Ctrl + E: Open the Search function
- Ctrl + F: Search the current page
- Ctrl + H to open the history of websites visited
- Ctrl + N to open a new page identical to the previous
- Ctrl + T: Open a new tab (Available also as Firefox)
- Ctrl + Tab, Alt + D or F6: select the address bar
- CTRL + ENTER: add www. and. around the text entered com
- Shift + click on the link to open a link in a new window
- F11: toggle between full screen mode and Normal mode for the current window.
- Alt + Home (arrow pointing upwards on the left): Opens the Start Page
Windows Media Player :
- ALT + 1 (2 or 3): zoom of 50% (or 100% sequence 200%)
- ALT + ENTER: switch to full screen
- Esc: exit full screen mode
- ALT + Left Arrow: to reverse in the browsing history
- ALT + Right Arrow: move forward in browsing history
- CTRL + 1: Switch to full screen mode
- CTRL + 2: switch to appearance
- CTRL + B: Previous (item or chapter)
- CTRL + F: Next (item or chapter)
- CTRL + H: activate / deactivate the random playback
